Wellbeing
At The Rissington School, the wellbeing of our pupils, staff, and parents is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children learn best when they feel happy, safe, and supported — and that everyone in our school community deserves to feel valued and cared for.
Wellbeing
Wellbeing is supported everywhere at our school — whether in lessons through our well established PSHE curriculum, during assemblies, extra curricular activities on offer, out on the playground, or through more personalised support for individuals who need it. We work closely with our Pastoral Team — SENCo Mrs Lisa Loxton, Mrs Valentine, and Mrs Watt — to make sure every child receives the right care at the right time. We’re also proud of our newly developed wellbeing rooms: The Blue Room, a calm, reflective space for pupils who need time to reset, and The Hive, a nurturing environment for small group sessions and a lunchtime club that help children build confidence, resilience, and friendships.
We are extremely proud to have achieved GHLL’s Healthy Schools Award in 2023, recognising our ongoing commitment to creating a healthy, nurturing environment for all. Building on this success, we are now working towards achieving GHLL’s Mental Health Champion Award by 2026 — a reflection of our continued dedication to embedding mental health and wellbeing at the core of school life.
